California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations
Who We Are
The California Coalition of Law Enforcement Associations (CCLEA) was
formed in 1984 to provide an umbrella organization to represent the
needs of all law enforcement associations in the state.
Since its founding, law enforcement associations from all over
California have joined CCLEA, helping make the voice and presence of law
enforcement even louder and more powerful on the statewide level. Today,
CCLEA's membership consists of 36 organizations and is an 80,000
member-strong organization that continues to add new members each year.

What We Do
Providing a forum to help member organizations receive the best
training, safety equipment, benefits and salary is one of CCLEA's main
goals. We also provide financial support to charitable organizations,
including crime victims organizations and public service activities.
To ensure law enforcement's voice is heard in the halls of the
Capitol, CCLEA endorses candidates for local, state and federal office,
as well as state and local initiatives, propositions and constitutional
amendments.
Besides lending our name as an endorsement, we organize our
membership in key areas to serve as campaign volunteers.
CCLEA closely monitors legislation coming out of Sacramento and
Washington DC that could affect the law enforcement community. We
prepare members to testify during committee hearings and mobilize member
organizations when needed lobby their own legislators and key policy
makers on legislation of interest to our membership.
CCLEA, with the help of its member organizations, has worked hard to
enhance the professionalism of peace officers over the years-and our
efforts are really paying off Peace officers in California receive some
of the best pay, benefits and safety equipment available. And the peace
officer profession is beginning to receive the respect and recognition
it deserves.
The fight is not over-and it's CCLEA's belief that it can only be won
by working together under one strong umbrella organization for a set of
common goals.
